About this festival 2007.

The SHORTCUTS Film Festival launched off to a great start with an excellent showing of films from various Davis District high school filmmakers.

The show kicked off to a rocking start as Gypsy Sister, a Layton High School based rock band, entertained the audience with a tasteful set of covered and original music.

Comedian Nate Peck brought each showcased filmmaker to the stage to introduce his/her film. The audience was rapt as a parade of creativity graced the screen. Short film genres varied, from comedy to horror, from suspense to drama.

Each film was judged by a panel of industry professionals. To view a list of award-winning films, visit the Award Winners area of this site.

Gangrene Productions and the Career & Technical Education Department of the Davis School District give out a shout to all participating filmmakers, and to the many students who submitted films that were not showcased at the event.

The SHORTCUTS Film Festival is here to stay. Be sure to check back for information about SHORTCUTS 2008.
